Humans Factor In Lighting (Humans Factor In Lighting), also known as comfort lighting, refers to the adjustment of light according to people's work and rest, and this lighting concept originated in Europe with the purpose of allowing people to live in a comfortable lighting environment. LED is an easy-to-control light source that can adjust the light according to the biological cycle, but the spectral distribution and color temperature conditions still need to be considered.

Although lighting is not the only factor that affects Circadian Rhythm, it is a key factor. Some scientists believe that lighting can affect people's mood, health and energy.

The pros and cons of LED human lighting

The LED application to human lighting has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, blue light belongs to cold white light, which is close to natural light, which helps to concentrate and can be used in student classrooms and offices. However, long-term exposure to blue light will also inhibit blackening. The growth of melatonin affects the quality of sleep, immune system, and may cause physical diseases such as cancer.

According to scientific research, blue light can control the amount of insulin, so long-term exposure to blue light at night will cause insulin resistance (insulin resistance), that is, lower insulin and inability to control blood sugar. This phenomenon can lead to obesity, diabetes, and high blood sugar. Diseases such as blood pressure.

Lighting design cannot only consider color temperature

When designing LED lighting, the spectral energy distribution and color temperature should be considered. The color temperature is in absolute temperature K, which represents the spectral components of different light sources. The color temperature of blue light falls above 5300K, which is a medium-high color temperature and has a bright feeling; on the contrary, red and yellow light belong to warm colors, and the color temperature is below 3300K, which makes people feel warm, healthy and relaxing, suitable for home use.

However, under the same color temperature, different viewers and other conditions such as climate, environment and other factors will have different spectral distributions. Therefore, relevant researchers believe that the spectral energy distribution (SED) is the key factor affecting the human eye and body.
