LED lights are getting darker and darker, which is a very common phenomenon. Summarizing the reasons for dimming LED lights, there are no more than the following three points.

The drive is damaged


LED lamp beads are required to work at a low DC voltage (below 20V), but our usual commercial power supply is high AC voltage (220V AC). A device called "LED constant current drive power supply" is needed to turn the city power into the power required by the lamp beads.


In theory, as long as the parameters of the driver match the lamp bead board, it can be continuously powered and used normally. The internal of the driver is more complicated. If any device (such as capacitor, rectifier, etc.) fails, it may cause the output voltage to change, which will cause the lamp to dim.

Driver damage is one of the most common failures in LED lamps and can usually be resolved after the driver is replaced.


LED burned


The LED itself is composed of one lamp bead, if one or a part of it is not bright, it will inevitably make the whole lamp dark. The lamp beads are generally connected in series and then in parallel-so if a certain lamp bead is burnt, it may cause a batch of lamp beads to be off.


There is a clear black spot on the surface of the burned lamp bead. Find it, connect it with a wire to the back of it, and short it; or replace it with a new lamp bead, you can solve the problem.

One of the LEDs burned out occasionally, which may have happened. If it burns frequently, you must consider the driver problem-another manifestation of driver failure is to burn the lamp beads.


LED light attenuation


The so-called light decay is that the brightness of the luminous body is getting lower and lower-this situation is more obvious on incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps.


LED light can not avoid light decay, but its light decay rate is relatively slow, it is generally difficult to see changes with the naked eye. However, it is not excluded that inferior LEDs, or inferior bead plates, or due to objective factors such as poor heat dissipation, lead to faster LED light decay.
